Project Experience

Showcasing our successful projects across structural and transportation engineering disciplines.

Charles Street Jail Hotel — Boston, MA
BMC provided structural design services to the construction team on this historic preservation hotel project in downtown Boston. Engineering services included design of all structural steel connections, temporary construction shoring, preparation of erection procedures, debris netting design, roof truss design, and ornamental aluminum and glass railing design.
Water Street Condominiums — Brooklyn, NY
BMC provided engineering design for the structural steel connections, including the seismic and gravity braced frames, moment frames, transfer girders, floor and roof framing. Also provided value engineering services to the steel erector to help ensure a structurally sound and financially successful project.
BC/BS Office Renovation — Quincy, MA
This project called for a major renovation of the existing health care facility. Our structural engineers designed the exterior building cladding system and backup framing system utilizing a custom composite aluminum panel system supported by a long span, light gage metal framing system.
Route 6 Bridge over Route 18 — New Bedford, MA
Provided structural assessment analysis for the vehicle impact damage to the 65 foot long fascia girder. BMC provided the structural demolition and traffic management plans, crane erection procedures, protective shielding design and field inspection during reconstruction.
Astra Zeneca Vehicular Bridge — Waltham, MA
BMC provided the structural design for the steel stringer superstructure and concrete substructure on this design-build project. Also included in the design was a combination pedestrian/vehicular railing system, concrete approach slabs, rail mounted reflector lights, signage and utility supports.
Brightman Street Drawbridge — Fall River, MA
Duties included the maintenance inspection of the five fixed deck truss spans and the single movable bascule span, and the bridge protection fender system. Project culminated with a Long Term Bridge Maintenance Repair Report itemizing anticipated costs to maintain the structure for a 25 year extended service life.
Robbins Mill Estates Retaining Wall — Acton, MA
Provided design for a cemented stone masonry retaining wall structure adjacent to the proposed roadway reconstruction. Structural design included lateral earth pressure effects from earth, groundwater, and an HS-20 live load surcharge. Also included bituminous asphalt drainage aprons and rip rap slope revetments.
